XMedia Recode is a freeware video and audio converter program for Microsoft Windows developed by Sebastian Dörfler. Now a days most of the video files on any PC is downloaded from the web and everybody have portable video/mp3 players. (When was I used Windows Media player for the last time I can’t remember it was long long ago that’s sure). After all these years of software and hardware technology development there are too many excellent media players and endless video formats present.

I had to change 2 or sometimes 3 disks to watch a movie as Indian movies are of two and a half to 3 hours in running time. Those were the old days of Windows 98 when video player means windows media player and video format means mpeg-1. When I first got a computer 9 years back I asked my friend how to play a video disk, he said “load the disk into drive, find the folder mpegav double click on the file avseq01 and that’s it Windows Media Player plays the video”.
